I currently run 23 Omnimedia, Inc., which I founded in late 2008 immediately after leaving my position as President of UltraStar Entertainment, LLC. I had been with UltraStar since early 2001, through the company’s acquisition by Live Nation in 2007.
At 23 I work with entertainment artists and brands to help them develop new businesses, products and revenue streams. I also connect companies with artists and brands that might benefit from being involved with each other.
It is a diverse body of work, spanning many disciplines - strategic, creative, and technical. Some notable highlights include:
- Producing, project managing and self-distributing the global release of multiple recorded music products for a major classic rock artist (one of which was nominated for a 2012 Grammy);
- Developing and implementing virtual goods licensing programs for one of the top-selling bands of all time; and
- Advising and consulting on the e-commerce and social media marketing strategy for music and family entertainment brands.
When I was with UltraStar I produced and executive produced dozens of websites, online events, broadcast programming and limited edition DVDs for the company’s roster. Co-founded by David Bowie in 1998, over the years this roster included The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police, Genesis, Bowie, Destiny’s Child, Tim McGraw and dozens of other superstar music acts, many of which I still work with at 23.
I have been using digital technologies to grow businesses since 1993. Since taking my first business online in that year, I have become an expert in multiple aspects of conducting business in the internet age, including online entertainment, community development, marketing, e-retail sales and operations, product development, technology business operations and content licensing, production and distribution.
As a commentator I have been featured in Rolling Stone, Billboard Magazine, Hollywood Reporter, Wall Street Journal and many others. My speaking and panelist engagements have included repeat appearances at the Billboard Touring Conference (New York, NY, 2007 & 09), amongst others. I am a published writer on both business and cultural topics.
I currently hold membership in the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association, and the National Academy Recording Arts & Sciences. I currently do or have served on the advisory boards for a variety of companies, including Altruik, Inc. and Capzles.com.
